My (Sort-Of) Predictions

One of the great things about this election is that nobody knows how it's going to turn out.  I wouldn't be surprised by a Massa blowout, a Massa win, or a Kuhl squeaker.  A Kuhl blowout would be a surprise, but even Bob Van Wicklin isn't predicting that.

I stick by the prediction that I made when I started this blog:  this race is a bellwether.  If it's a Massa blowout, or even a Massa win, I expect Democratic gains in both houses on the high end of analysts' predictions.  If Kuhl wins, Democrats will control the House by a razor-thin margin at best, and probably won't control the Senate.

There are no national exit polls in House races, so we'll have to wait until the polls close to determine the winner.  With New York's venerable yet reliable voting machines, returns come in quickly.  The suspense will be over shortly after voting ends at 9 p.m.

First---really enjoy this site! thank you!@ second---no way in the world it will be a blowout for Kuhl and CERTAINLY NOT for Mr. Massa. When all is said and done, Mr. Kuhl probably will make it thru. But Eric Massa has risen the bar on congressional level campaigning throughout the entire sleepy southern tier and I am very very proud of him. As I wrote before, people are talking about this thing at coffeeshops and diners and it is as if there is a spirited race on for mayor. Did anyone see the Hornell newspaper coverage og General Clark yet?

Olean Gal, where's the 55%? Now we're at "make it through"? I hope you're not backing away from your earlier predictions...

Just noticed on the kuhlforcongress website that "Canandaigua Native and Mayor of Canandaigua Ellen Polimeni Announces Support of Kuhl in Re-Election Bid." Isnt she a democrat and didnt massa say that she is his political mentor? whats up with this?

She's also a "lifelong Democrat" so I don't understand it either. All the Democratic city and county officials I've seen are gung-ho about Massa.

Kuhl has others who say they should not be on his list.

The timing is a bit odd. You'd think Kuhl would have announced it a day or two prior so perhaps the Messenger-Post would pick it up.

Where did you find that on the Kuhl website? I can't find it.

It was there for a couple of hours and now it's gone.

This is the REAL Mike Williams writing, Eric Massa's Communication Director. We'd very much like to get a printout and an electronic copy of the Kuhl web page claiming Mayor Palomini's endorsement. I'm hoping it's in someone's cache folder at this very moment. It would probably be someone who saw it, but then DIDN't go back later and discover that it was gone (and therefore overwrote the original page in the cache file). If you're such a person, please (1) DON't go back to the Kuhl website. (2) Call me asap at 704-6567, or email me at mwilliams@massaforcongress.com. THANKS.

UPDATE: Many thanks to Rotten Chester, who provided us with an html cache capture of the page, and a feedwhip record of the page. We're trying to get some electronic media attention on the story right now. THANKS!

Does my fellow Yates/Steuben County jerky neighbor deserve to be beat or what?!!?? Geez.....

Olean Gal, I thought he deserved 55%. I'm so confused!
