Hey Big Spender

According to the non-partisan National Taxpayer's Union, Randy Kuhl was the top spender on postage in the House in 2005. He averaged 60.2 cents per address. Kuhl prefers infrequent, highly-polished glossy communications, so that might explain why his per-piece costs topped the list.

Overall, spending by House members is up 20% since 2000, with member office costs averaging $1.2 million.

Ha, no kidding high roller... I was just at a friends, and she just got that blingin' new flyer. The funny thing is that she does not even live in the district.

Your tax dollars at work

Very prominent on the Town Hall Meeting flyer is a message stating that we paid for it. At least we have that.

What amazes me is that we don't already have 2006 information. There are only 435 representatives. The government moves too slowly getting information out.

Zabriskie: In Randy's defense, with the crazy gerrymandering in the 29th, it's hard to map zipcodes to residents. For example, 1/4 of Penfield is in the 29th. Look at the bright side: your friend has a nice color picture of John R Kuhl Jr to display in a prominent place in her home.

Vicent. Yes, as usual, we get the very least.

Elmer: Agreed 100% - the foot-dragging is all too typical.
