Petition Report

Reader Rich sends a report on Massa petitioning progress in Yates County. He's a first-time petitioner, and he believes that Yates will send in roughly 1,000 signatures for Massa. This is in a county that cast a little over 3,000 votes for Massa in the last election.

Rich is aware of some Republican petitioners for State Senator George Winner, but none for Randy Kuhl.

I believe the Congressional Candidates need only 1250 signatures for the whole district.

I imagine the Massa campaign wants to make a big splash with the number of signatures on their petitions. Anything that gets more people aware of, and interested in, the election is a good thing, so more power to them.

I find this kind of numberism elitist. It may impress coastal elites but I don't see western New Yorkers buying into it.

Thanks for speaking up for the numerically challenged.

It does show that the Massa campaign is energized.

Let's see what the final numbers really are. It may impress the ones at the DCCC who control the purse strings.
