Walkback

Janice Volk's campaign manager has finally admitted to Sean Carroll that the charges of racism and sexism that he was complaining about occurred on only one Southern Tier blog and have since been removed. Sean Carroll adds this:

Cary also said that "if my candidate was a white male I wouldn't have felt the need to say" what he did in the press release.

I was told I should be pursuing all sorts of campaign issues and politely pointed out that I have yet to see a Volk press release, campaign speech, and/or media tour to raise any of the said issues.

I was also told by Cary that I'm the only reporter asking about this. At last check I believe he's the only person talking about this.

What a big yawn this campaign currently has become. Talk about Dog Days of Summer. But thank you, as always, for staying atop this and culling all of this information. Who IS Terry Cary? Any sense of his background?

Hello:

Here is tonight's interview with Janice Volk (more parts will be uploaded tonight and tomorrow). The website, ielmira.com hosted Janice Volk and asked her many questions from NY-29 constituents. I think you will like what you see out of Ms. Volk. Janice a down-to-earth person and she can relate to NY-29 Constituents.

Also tonight, Janice interviewed on an Elmira, NY TV station and then met with the Finger Lakes TEA Party. Janice has many more media commitments in the near future from local newspapers, local TV stations, radio shows and county fairs!

Enjoy!

She is barely coherent in this interview.

Well, coherent or not, Ms. Volk is impressing people. This letter to the editor, written by the wife of Prattsburgh Town Councilman (and candidate for Assembly in the Republican primary), appears in today's "Courier" (in our county seat of Bath): To the Editor,
As the wife of a candidate for NYS Assembly, I have witnessed firsthand how twisted the political world can be, and how difficult it is for ordinary citizens to seek elected office.
I have never felt compelled, however, to publicly voice my opinions about these matters.
After meeting Jan Volk (candidate for the 29th Congressional District seat), and hearing her speak, I absolutely feel compelled to voice my strong support for her.
Jan is one of us. She believes in family values, financial responsibility, and individual freedom.
She is one of many candidates that we need to elect to take the power away from the politicians and special interests, and bring it back to where it belongs- with us, the people.
Don’t let the party leadership make your decisions for you. Take the time to check out all of the candidates for yourselves. This is the year to take the chance on newcomers like Jan.
She is honest and genuine, and has the energy and integrity to get things done for us in Washington.
